South Sudanese TikTok sensation Yagga, known for his raw humor and unapologetic social commentary, has stirred major online buzz with a fiery message aimed straight at event promoters, and it got fans debating in every dialect across Juba and beyond.

With over 880,000 TikTok followers, Yagga (aka @yaggamr.idiot) has evolved from viral skit-maker to cultural mouthpiece, calling out injustices and igniting conversations that most shy away from. His latest post tackled a growing frustration in South Sudan’s entertainment industry-the lack of international recognition and mobility for homegrown artists.

“When was the last time Junubin artists were flown out to perform? Think, use your brains!”

“Foreign artists are banking your money, and you forget your own creatives. Use that cash to build our industry!”

The message was blunt, but it struck a chord.

Yagga’s post was not just a clap back, it was a challenge to the status quo. He highlighted how South Sudanese promoters regularly invite foreign artists to perform at flashy events, while local talent remains sidelined and stuck within national borders.

“We’re inviting them, but they NEVER invite us back because we are not pushing our own past borders,” he warned.

His words painted a picture of an entertainment scene where cultural exchange has been replaced by commercial gain, leaving Junubin artists struggling for space on the global stage.

The reaction online was swift and passionate. Fans flooded the comment section with solidarity and frustration:

“Say it louder for the donkeys at the back fam!!! ”

“Our top Juba artist can only afford a Ugandan tour ”

“Junubin promoters do not understand the music game”

Even established artists jumped in. Blaq Bizzo, the singer behind the hit ‘Na Mundari’, shared a jaw-dropping story:

“Bro I want you to perform at my event, ana bi wodik… HAGA SOBUN!” He shared one of his experience.

Who Really Is Yagga?

Born and raised in Juba’s vibrant yet challenging creative landscape, Yagga didn’t climb through traditional platforms. He carved his own lane by blending satire, raw truth, and viral moments. Today, he stands among the few digital voices consistently advocating for South Sudanese identity and artistry.

He is one of the pioneers of TikTok culture in South Sudan, using comedy to spotlight serious social gaps. The outspoken advocate for regional pride once claimex only three groups represent the flag: “the national basketball team, model Adut Akech, and me.”

His storytelling is not polished, it is personal. And that authenticity is why his words carry weight. Yagga’s rant has cracked open a deeper debate: Are promoters uplifting South Sudanese talent, or just chasing foreign clout? The question resonates because it reflects a recurring dilemma in developing entertainment industries, how to value local creativity beyond mere event lineups.

If South Sudan wants a thriving arts industry, then investment, respect, and exporting Junub pride must be part of the blueprint.

And whether through memes, rants, or TikTok dances, Yagga is making sure that conversation stays alive.
