Thursday marked a historic milestone for South Sudan’s most iconic entertainment show, “Kilkilu Ana,” as it turned 11 years with thousands of enthusiastic youths from across the city.
What began as a small comedy platform in the heart of a young nation a decade ago has blossomed into a cultural force, a pulsating blend of humor, music, and dance that unites generations and brings the streets of Juba to life.
From humble beginnings, the show quickly caught fire. It was not just about the jokes but the energy, the music, poetry, performers, and above all, the message. “Laughter can heal, connect, and inspire.”
The anniversary event, held in a lively and electric atmosphere at Nyakuron theater, served as both a celebration of the show’s journey and a testament to its impact on South Sudan comedy.
Founding member and lead host Mc Lumoex was at the center of the celebration, joined by key team members including Sukeji, Kiko Sarah, and many others who have played a significant role in the show’s continued success since the start in 2014.
Over the years, Kilkilu Ana has evolved into more than just a comedy show, it has become a platform for young talent and a voice for societal commentary, all wrapped in humor, creativity and relatable storytelling.
Kilkilu Ana is more than just a show, it’s an urban festival. Every episode is a live spectacle, bursting with punchline-packed skits, electrifying dance crews, and the hottest musical talents from the south Sudanese music industry.
